Our Mission
Compassion Unleashed’s mission is to nurture the full human–animal bond by delivering a wide range of service‑based programs across Virginia. We believe that the connection between people and their pets is essential to emotional wellbeing, stability, and community health. Through accessible veterinary care, crisis‑support services, rescue initiatives, and specialized programs for Veterans, survivors of domestic violence, and rural families, we work to strengthen that bond and ensure pets remain safe, supported, and united with the people who love them.
Our Services
Spay & Neuter
We provide accessible, high‑quality spay and neuter services to underserved, economically restricted rural communities, ensuring that pet owners—regardless of income or location—can protect the health of their animals. Our work reduces unwanted litters, improves community animal welfare, and supports families who otherwise face significant barriers to veterinary care.
Veteran Support
Our goal is to support Veterans and their families by connecting them with referrals to proven Veteran programs—the same resources that have positively impacted our own family—and by providing free veterinary care that protects the emotional support their pets offer. We recognize the vital role companion animals play in mental health, stability, and daily resilience, and we work to ensure that no Veteran loses that support because of financial barriers.
Housing Support
We recognize that individuals escaping domestic violence often face the heartbreaking reality of leaving their pets behind during a crisis. To bridge this gap, we provide safe, temporary housing for pets while their owners transition to safety and stability. Our goal is to protect the human‑animal bond by ensuring pets are cared for, sheltered, and loved until their families can be reunited.
Animal Rescue
We are dedicated to animal rescue and to supporting families by providing free or low‑cost veterinary care that prevents unnecessary, economically driven euthanasia. Our goal is to ensure that no pet loses its life simply because an owner cannot afford treatment. By offering accessible medical support, we protect the human‑animal bond, keep families together, and give pets the chance to live healthy, happy lives.
